Old Bridge High School Esports hosted its first-ever college signing day, celebrating seniors Evan K and Anthony L as they committed to continue their esports careers at Brookdale Community College and Rutgers University. The milestone highlights the program’s continued growth and impact in creating collegiate opportunities.
Brookdale Community College is proud to announce that Old Bridge High School senior Evan Kraja has officially signed a National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) Letter of Intent to join Brookdale’s esports program. Kraja will compete in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as part of the College’s growing and competitive esports team.
Old Bridge High School’s esports program is part of a rapidly growing New Jersey scene where students are earning college scholarships up to $30,000. Through Garden State Esports, players gain exposure to over 100 colleges, turning gaming into real academic and career opportunities.
Old Bridge High School in New Jersey transformed a small after-school esports club into a five course CTE pathway serving students across both high school and middle school. By adopting Gameplan, the district found a structured, flexible, and fully digital esports curriculum that increased student engagement, improved attendance, and opened doors to career readiness for students who previously felt disconnected from traditional sports and instruction.
The OBKnightsEsport Lab will be open during Knights Out on Friday, February 13 (6:30–9:30 PM) with Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros., and Fortnite running all night.
