On Monday, April 6th, 2026, Old Bridge High School Esports reached a historic milestone by hosting its first-ever Esports College Signing Day, celebrating two senior student-athletes who will continue their competitive gaming careers at the collegiate level.
Family, friends, teammates, and staff gathered in the OBHS Esports Lab to recognize Evan Kraja and Anthony Lepre as they officially committed to their respective programs, marking a major step forward not only for the players but for the continued growth of esports at OBHS.
Evan Kraja has officially committed to Brookdale Community College, where he will compete in Super Smash Bros. as part of one of the nation’s premier collegiate esports programs.
Brookdale Esports is widely recognized for its success, including multiple national championships, and continues to expand its competitive offerings. According to Brookdale’s official announcement, Evan’s signing represents an exciting addition to their program as they continue to build out their Super Smash Bros. roster.
“Coach Weiss runs a fantastic program at Old Bridge and prepares his students to thrive at the college level, in game and out,” said Chris Boehmer, Director of Brookdale Esports. “I am ecstatic to bolster our National Championship caliber Smash team with a player like Evan. I can’t wait to see him in the action this Fall.”
“Brookdale Esports is thrilled to welcome Evan to our program,” said Brandon Ebanks, Smash Team Coach at Brookdale. “Evan brings not only strong technical skills and competitive experience, but also leadership, resilience, and a true passion for the game. We are excited to see how he will contribute to our team’s continued success.”
For Kraja, the decision to attend Brookdale was both strategic and personal. “Brookdale is close, has a wonderful esports team, and fits into my future plan,” he said. Grounded in perseverance, Kraja often reflects on his favorite quote: “I may have failed… but I’m closer than before!” — Winston. Alexis L - Class of 2024
Xavier M - Class of 2024
Zachary L - Class of 2024
Frank L - Class of 2025
Notably, Evan becomes the first OBHS player to compete in Super Smash Bros. at Brookdale, adding another layer to the program’s legacy pipeline. His signing highlights both his individual dedication and the strength of OBHS’s competitive Smash program.
Anthony Lepre Signs with Rutgers University
Anthony Lepre will continue his academic and esports career at Rutgers University, where he will focus on Overwatch and esports broadcasting/casting.
Anthony has been a cornerstone of the OBHS Esports program, known not only for his in-game performance but also for his work behind the scenes as a caster and content contributor. His ability to communicate, analyze gameplay, and elevate broadcasts made him a standout leader within the program.
At Rutgers, Anthony will major in Engineering, balancing a rigorous academic path with his continued involvement in esports.
He will also reunite with OBHS alumnus Jash P, the 2023–2024 OBHS Esports Player of the Year, further strengthening the growing presence of OBHS students within collegiate esports programs.
