Old Bridge High School proudly hosted the OBHS Gaming Wellness Fair on January 23, 2026, welcoming students from Jonas Salk Middle School into the OBHS Esport Lab for a day of learning, gaming, and community building. The event focused on promoting positive gaming culture, healthy habits, and awareness of the many educational and career pathways connected to esports and digital media.
The fair was facilitated by students enrolled in the OBHS Esport II course, who took on leadership roles by designing and running six interactive stations. These stations were built around key topics including streaming and content creation, careers in gaming and media, healthy gaming habits, and understanding and combating gaming toxicity.
Middle school students rotated through each station, engaging in hands-on activities, discussions, and demonstrations led by OBHS students. The high school facilitators shared both technical skills and personal experiences, helping younger students understand how gaming can be a positive, collaborative, and educational space when approached with the right mindset.
Beyond skill-building, the event emphasized sportsmanship, teamwork, and digital citizenship. Students explored what positive communication looks like in gaming spaces, how to support teammates, and strategies for handling negative behavior online. These lessons connect directly to OBHS’s mission of preparing students to be responsible digital citizens.
The OBHS Gaming Wellness Fair was a resounding success, highlighted by strong collaboration between both schools and the enthusiasm of participating students. A special thank you to our Esport II students for their professionalism and leadership, to Jonas Salk Middle School for visiting, and to G’Zepps for providing lunch. Events like this continue to strengthen the bridge between schools while empowering the next generation of gamers.
